Country Heritage Park is a beautiful escape from city life in Milton, ON., just a short drive outside of Toronto. Located on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, the views are of the gorgeous cliffs and greenery all around. Nestled among that nature are vintage buildings from the 1800s beautifully preserved and available for your special events.
1. Incredible Outdoor Indian Wedding Pictures
When you book your wedding at Country Heritage Park, you gain access to the full park. This opens a plethora of photo opportunities for you! Be sure to do a site visit (see if you photographer can join you) and scope out some spots for pictures so you can be prepared on your big day. See if you can notice some special spots where you can bring in some decor and create a vignette to have a unique space just for you!
2. South Asian vendors have experience at Country Heritage Park
Photography: When having your Sikh wedding in a barn or outdoors, it is important that your photographer know how to work with challenging light. Outdoor Sikh ceremonies may have sunlight directly overhead, whereas inside a barn ceremony there may be inconsistent lighting. Luckily, there are South Asian photographers with experience at Country Heritage Park. A recommended vendor at Country Heritage Park is Red Mango Photography. We also suggest our preferred vendor, Alfaaz Photography, whose work you can see here.
Caterers: Country Heritage Park is open to your choice of caterer; however, there are some caterers already vetted to service your Indian wedding dinner. Check out Aunty's Kitchen and Warraich Group for traditional South Asian catering, or Paramount Fine Foods for a Middle Eastern menu.
Decorators: No wedding is complete without decor, even in a venue as beautiful as Country Heritage Park. Whether you're in need of a mandap, a Palki Sahib, a wedding stage or table settings, Country Heritage Park works with vendors who meet all these needs. For your wedding, reach out to the preferred South Asian decor vendors at Country Heritage Park including Ted.Co, Xclusive Designs and Design Mantraa.
Baraat Vendors/Horse and Carriage: One of the most celebratory moments in Sikh weddings is the Baraat; however, many Gurdwaras no longer allow baraat. At Country Heritage Park, you can have your Sikh wedding complete with a baraat. Contact the experienced folks at Ponies R Us for any horse needs. Ponies R Us has 30 years of experience taking part in Baraat celebrations and even offer a complimentary riding lesson for the groom-to-be.
3. Same Day South Asian Weddings - Outdoor Venue
Country Heritage Park is a great option for one day South Asian weddings.
There are multiple venue options on the property to host your outdoor wedding. Have your ceremony outdoor on the meadow. Then, while you are taking beautiful wedding pictures in the countryside, your guests can enjoy cocktail hour in the carriage house. Finally, join your guests in the Gambrel barn for your reception.
4. A unique venue for your South Asian Wedding Ceremony
Most South Asian weddings follow a predictable formula. Sikh wedding ceremonies are performed at a Gurdwara, Hindu wedding ceremonies happen in a mandir, and so on.
Planning your Anand Karaj at a barn will throw your guests for a loop! It will be a unique feature of your wedding to break the pattern of typical South Asian weddings. Being outside of a religious institution allows you to personalize aspects of your wedding that may not otherwise be allowed, such as having a baraat or using a floral palla. A South Asian wedding at Country Heritage Park will be a memorable experience for you and your guests.
5. Have your Sikh wedding outdoors...or indoors - it's your choice!
By choosing Country Heritage Park for your Sikh wedding ceremony, you can blend your wish for an outdoor wedding with the security of an indoor venue. Having an Anand Karaj at a barn gives you all the feel of an outdoor wedding; you can have a different decor and aesthetic from a Gurdwara. However, being inside a barn protects your wedding ceremony from the elements. Alternatively, embrace the outdoors entirely by having an outdoor Palki Sahib and hosting your Anand Karaj outdoors.
